How do I know if a product or appliance is energy efficient?
Every single household appliance must meet very specific parameters to earn the Energy Star designation. The National Appliance Energy Conservation Act (NAECA) set minimum energy efficiency standards that must be met for any appliance to be sold in America, and Energy Star appliances must use less than the set standards. Thus, a rigorous testing protocol and review, specific to each appliance, is followed to make sure that it is using as little energy as possible without any compromise on performance.

There are many ways to shop for energy-efficient appliances and products. The Energy Star website can help you find products as well as applicable rebates.
