HOW IT WORKS

We supply the energy. Your local utility provides the service.

Switching to AEP Energy takes just minutes, and we’ll take care of everything else. We buy electricity and natural gas from producers. Then we work with your local utility company, who delivers your power, reads your meter, does repairs and sends your bills. You get the service, price and innovation you prefer.

  • Choose a Plan

Choose the plan that’s right for you based on price, duration and renewable energy options.

  • Sign Up In Minutes

Sign up online or over the phone by providing a few pieces of information.

  • Seamless Process

Once you’re approved, we do all the work to switch you, and we notify you of your approximate start date.

  • No New Bills

Nothing changes about your electricity delivery and you still get the same bill from your local utility.

What happens after I enroll?

Here are a few of the more common questions customers ask after they sign up with AEP Energy.

  • No. AEP Energy contacts your utility company about your switch. But remember, your local utility still delivers your energy, handles maintenance, and sends you your bill.

  • In most cases, your service will begin on the next available meter-read date after your local utility accepts your enrollment. This typically takes up to 45-75 days after we receive your enrollment form.

  • Your monthly statement is still sent and managed by your local utility company. Please call them with questions.

  • Most AEP Energy plans come with no fees for canceling before the end of your agreement. Be sure to review the terms and conditions of your contract, though, before making any decisions.

  • Your local utility company will still manage any maintenance issues or emergency situations.

I chose AEP energy because of their competitive rates and they also seem to want to keep you as a customer after your contract is up. They are also more personable than any other supplier that I had in the past.

-David P. Brook Park, OH

The application process was very easy. It walked me through everything I needed to do. The rate was half what I was paying and there is no cancellation fee.

-Sarah W. Kenton, OH

I have been with AEP Energy for a few years. I chose AEP Energy because they normally have the lowest gas and electric rates in my area and they are very easy to work with. Additionally, there are no termination fees in the event you decide to transfer to another provider. I would recommend AEP Energy as your provider.

-Beverly H. Beavercreek, OH

Good pricing and contract lengths to choose from with no early cancellation fees. Very easy to sign up for.

-Beth F. Akron, OH

I chose AEP Energy from a combination of their reputation, rates and term length. I was surprised to have a live person answer the phone immediately. The enrollment process could not have been easier. The associate I spoke with was very friendly and wanted to make sure all my questions were answered. It felt like she was personally responsible for my satisfaction. I was very pleased about the entire process.
