On Monday, September 23, a jump in natural gas futures is driving power markets higher in early trading. October 2024 natural gas is up $0.146/MMBtu to $2.580/MMBtu and October peak power at AEP – Dayton Hub is up $0.85/MWh to $44.10/MWh.

On Friday, September 20, a strong push higher in natural gas supported power throughout the curve during the day.

On Monday, September 16, markets were little changed in early trading after weekend weather models maintained temperature expectations from Friday, September 13. October 2024 natural gas is up $0.020/MMBtu to $2.325/MMBtu and October peak power at AEP – Dayton Hub is up $0.05/MWh to $40.00/MWh.

On Friday September 6, with summer-like temperatures still expected for the majority of the next week, power prices went higher. The rest of the power curve increased slightly with natural gas.
