April is a great month to commit to supporting a cleaner future and reducing your carbon footprint. That’s why AEP Energy is providing renewable energy options to make it easy for our customers to go green. In honor of Earth Month and Arbor Day, we’re also helping the environment by planting trees in partnership with One Tree Planted, a non-profit environmental charity on a mission for global reforestation.
Did you know that every year, AEP Energy plants trees on behalf of our customers who are enrolled on renewable energy plans? That’s right! Since partnering in 2021, we have planted 4,158 trees to aid in cleaning the air and creating a positive social impact. We’re currently planting trees in:
Myakka State Forest in Sarasota County, Florida
Pennsylvania state for the Keystone Tree Partnership
California state for the Creek Fire Restoration.
If you’ve been thinking about going green by signing up for renewable energy, consider our environmentally friendly ECO-Advantage® plan. You can enjoy not only the benefit of a fixed rate from a supplier you can trust, but also the confidence of knowing you are also helping the environment in a special way by having a tree planted simply because of your commitment to the planet.
Wondering if renewable energy makes a difference? It does, and the Environmental Protection Agency has developed a calculator that helps you see how. Simply click on the link, input your home energy data, and find your carbon footprint so you can identify how energy efficiency and going green make an impact.
