November 25th- The front end of the curve saw a significant uptick today with weekend weather models confirming a chilly start to December. However, the rise in natural gas futures didn’t translate into higher prices across the board. Current forecasts suggest the cold snap won’t make much of an impact in Texas.
November 22nd – We saw a sharp drop at the front of the curve today. Overnight and midday weather models now predict a return to near-normal temperatures by the end of the 11-15 day forecast period. ERCOT experienced continued volatility with December power prices dropping nearly $9.00 per megawatt-hour as models shifted to show mostly seasonal temperatures.
