June 16th, 2025 — Power prices for next week moved higher after weekend forecasts pointed to increased demand. Temperatures in PJM are expected to reach the mid-90s for several days, and with lower renewable output and above-normal temperatures projected for the balance of the week, on-peak power prices rose by $2.50. That said, most power markets ended the day lower.
June 13th, 2025 — Natural gas futures rose 8.9 cents to close out the week, breaking a four-day losing streak. Despite the gain in gas, power prices declined across the board, influenced by some cooler adjustments in the forecast and light liquidation activity.
