AEP Energy’s Belief in Zero Harm

Just like our parent company, American Electric Power (AEP), AEP Energy understands the critical need for reliable electric and natural gas service. We believe in “Zero Harm” – that all accidents are preventable, even in these unprecedented times. It isn’t just a tagline, but a belief that when things are done properly and handled safely, the end product is a better result.

We are committed to the health and safety of our customers, communities and employees, and we’ve created enhanced protocols to ensure we follow and stay aligned with government and Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines as they are updated.

Some of the steps we’re taking to make a difference include:

  • Ongoing employee education regarding updated CDC guidelines such as monitoring for symptoms, practicing social distancing and taking all prevention measures recommended by the CDC
  • Outfitting the majority of employees to work from home, including our entire contact center, to help minimize contact for all employees
  • Reassigning our field sales representatives from their work out in the communities to remote access training and educational sessions
  • Putting in place strict guidelines to help keep everyone safe for when the time is right to begin the transition back into the workplace

The core values of AEP Energy’s mission, vision and values helped us get through the past year and are more pertinent now than ever. Together with our customers, we are redefining the future of energy and developing innovative solutions that power communities and improve lives. We will power a brighter future for our customers and communities, because we believe in doing the right thing every time for our customers, each other and our future.
