7 Spring Cleaning and Maintenance Tips

springcleaning-post
The weather is breaking and warmer days are approaching. You may be anxious to get outdoors and get your hands dirty or remove the winter blues from your home. Here are 7 ways to help clean up and maintain your living space indoors and outdoors.
Outdoors: Give your lawn mower a thorough tune up. Change the oil, replace or clean the spark plug and air filter, and sharpen and replace the blade as needed. View more detailed information for each tune up here.
Indoors: Clean your carpets. Regular deep cleaning can help those with allergies and asthma and it can also help extend the life of your carpet. After a good vacuuming, use a carpet cleaning machine for a complete deep clean. You may be able to rent a machine from local stores in your area.
Outdoors: Clean your air conditioner for better efficiency. Your outdoor unit (the condenser) can easily be clogged and blocked by dirt and debris. Carefully follow these instructions to improve the unit’s performance and efficiency.
Indoors: Give your appliances a good cleaning. Clean your microwave and oven, wipe down your refrigerator doors and shelves. Don’t forget to give your washing machine and dishwasher a little attention too!
Outdoors: Freshen up your yard and garden. Remove those pesky and unwanted weeds with a few quick and easy tips. Weeds are easier to pull when the soil is wet so try pulling them after rain or a heavy watering. If you have deep rooted weeds, try using weed remover tools to help with stubborn removal.
Indoors: A little dusting can go a long way. Dust fixtures, shelves, ceiling fans, and delicate items in your home. There’s more than one way to accomplish these tasks. Find a method that works well for you and you’ll be dust free in no time!
Outdoors and Indoors: Let your windows sparkle and shine. Remove handprints and dirt by cleaning your windows inside and outside. Cleaning the glass is a common practice, but don’t forget to clean your screens and windowsills!
